08/22/2020 - I agree the hike is moderate. The views were beautiful. Saddle up for a trail ride at Kennedy Meadows or Aspen Meadows. That's a nice little trip. I spent my first night in a hammock. Rumor is you can park up past the restaurant if you're a day hiker. It is one of the most horse friendly paths in the Sierra. The map displayed above is for illustrative purposes only. Both Salt Lick and Spring Meadows are phenomenal; Long Lakes is an option for sleeping as well.
